About Green Umbrella Organisation

Green Umbrella Organisation, a registered charitable organisation, was founded in 2010 by Mr. Vikram Yende in Mumbai with some definite ideas to manifest and sole purpose to serve for betterment of environment in India.

In his green mission, soon he was accompanied by Mr. Mahendra Khavnekar, Mr. Vishal Revankar, Mr. Kapil Jadhav, Mr. Yogesh Kshatriya and few others.

Vikram and his team of young, like-minded friends made a point to dedicate their time towards green cause irrespective of their busy personal and professional lives. They form a Plant Rescue Team and started rescuing indigenous tree saplings growing on concrete buildings, roads, public places due to bird droppings

Ever since its foundation, Green Umbrella Organisation has rescued more than 3,000 native plants and successfully re-planted them in public places.

With help of Thane Muncipal Corporation, GUO has cultivated a nursery in Thane where they have planted and nurtured Astral Garden as described in holy books and ancient scriptures of India.

We donated 250 plants to Sanjay Gandhi National Park situated at borivali, Mumbai in July 2012.

In 2010, we donated 300 native plants to Kalyan Sahkari Bank when they undertook a large scale plantation project in public area as a social responsibility.

We also have distributed many saplings to environment friendly common people who wanted to grow trees under their personal supervision in their respective localities.

With our limited resources we are working to solve ecological problems with full force.

Green Umbrella Organisation makes sincere appeal not to cut branches of Banyan tree to celebrate the occasion of Vat-Pornima, instead try to adopt a Banyan Sapling and then donate it to our organisation.
